This foyer chandelier installation was one of the more labor-intensive lighting jobs — not because the electrical work was complicated, but because of the ceiling height and the fixture itself. The client had purchased a large crystal rain-drop chandelier designed for a two-story foyer, and it needed to be fully assembled on-site before it could go up.
The ceiling in a two-story entry like this sits well above what any ladder can safely reach. We brought in scaffolding to create a stable working platform at ceiling height — the kind of setup you'd normally see on a commercial job, but necessary here to do the work safely and correctly.

The fixture assembly alone took a significant portion of the day. Crystal strand chandeliers of this size come in sections that have to be connected, hung, and dressed individually. Each crystal arm gets routed and attached to the frame, and the weight of the assembled fixture has to be distributed evenly so it hangs level. The canopy was secured directly to the ceiling junction box and blocking, and all wiring was terminated inside the canopy before the frame was lifted into position.
From ground level, the finished fixture fills the full vertical space of the foyer — the crystal strands cascade from the square ceiling canopy nearly to mid-wall height. The result is exactly what the client was after: a statement piece that reads from the entryway and catches the light from the large foyer window.

Jobs like this take most of a day. We handle chandelier assembly and high-ceiling installs regularly — if you have a fixture that needs scaffolding or extended on-site time, that's a normal part of the scope.
