This pole-mounted panel at a commercial property had reached the end of its service life. The enclosure was heavily corroded — the door paint had failed, the metal was rusting through, and the breakers inside were coated in oxidation. That kind of deterioration isn't cosmetic: corroded breaker terminals create resistance, which creates heat, which is how panel fires start.
The old unit was removed and replaced with a new outdoor-rated Square D enclosure sized to match the existing service. Square D QO and Homeline panels are among the most widely used in the industry for a reason — the breakers are well-manufactured, parts are readily available, and the enclosures are designed to hold up outdoors. This one is mounted directly to the pole with new hardware and a new liquid-tight conduit connector at the bottom where the feeder exits toward the load.

The before photo tells the story on its own. The old enclosure had a second weatherhead box stacked on top, the breakers were visibly degraded, and the door was hanging by one hinge. The after is a clean, sealed panel that will hold up to years of sun and rain without the same deterioration.
Outdoor panels at commercial properties — irrigation controls, parking lot lighting, monument signs, and similar loads — often go years without anyone opening them. By the time someone notices a problem, the damage is usually significant. A panel swap like this is a straightforward job that eliminates a real fire risk.
